Welcome, one and all, to the very first episode of Between Two Pews with Stephen Caine (and his charming assistant, Sarah Dorger)! In this episode, Stephen reveals that he hates Trinity Sunday and the rather difficult lectionary reading involved (John 16:12-15), which seems a little dramatic at first but fairly reasonable once you hear his explanation. Sarah waxes poetic on…well, poetry, specifically Milton and Dante– as Stephen says, artists step in where theologians’ words fail.
Below are three different ways you can listen to the podcast: YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
