Our Staff

Rev. Dr. Stephen Caine is the Presbyterian Teaching Elder of the Indian Hill Church, and one of the Co-Pastors who leads our blended congregation. He joined us at Indian Hill Church in December 2013. Prior to that, he served as Pastor Head of Staff of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Prior to serving in Shelbyville, he was pastor of The Marion Presbyterian Church in Marion, South Carolina for four years. Stephen is the second of four boys, raised in Signal Mountain, Tennessee. In 1996, he graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary, located in Decatur, Georgia. While at Columbia Seminary, he met his wife Margaret Adams Caine (Monnie), who is also an ordained Teaching Elder (Minister of the World and Sacrament) in the Presbyterian Church. Their family includes two sons, Winston and Marion, and a daughter, Elliott. Aside from his work in the church, Stephen enjoys reading, community and civic volunteering, watching movies and sports, yard work, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family and friends. Rev. Simon Barnes is the Interim Episcopal Rector for Indian Hill Church and the other half of leadership. Ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, Simon also is licensed in the Church of England, serving in the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Simon has also served in leadership of various non-profits, most notably as Executive Vice President of American Bible Society.
Most recently, he served as the Interim Rector for St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He regularly teaches, preaches, and officiates in Episcopal and Anglican Churches.
He is married to Lucy and they both retain dual US and UK citizenship. When not serving as interim rector, Simon and Lucy reside on a small farm just outside Bath in England. Simon also serves as a magistrate (judge) in the English court system. He enjoys gardening, reading (biographies), teaching, and international travel.
