Our Staff
Rev. Dr. Stephen Caine is the Presbyterian Teaching Elder of the Indian Hill Church, and one of the Co-Pastors who leads our blended congregation. He joined us at Indian Hill Church in December 2013. Prior to that, he served as Pastor Head of Staff of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Prior to serving in Shelbyville, he was pastor of The Marion Presbyterian Church in Marion, South Carolina for four years. Stephen is the second of four boys, raised in Signal Mountain, Tennessee. In 1996, he graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary, located in Decatur, Georgia. While at Columbia Seminary, he met his wife Margaret Adams Caine (Monnie), who is also an ordained Teaching Elder (Minister of the World and Sacrament) in the Presbyterian Church. Their family includes two sons, Winston and Marion, and a daughter, Elliott. Aside from his work in the church, Stephen enjoys reading, community and civic volunteering, watching movies and sports, yard work, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family and friends. Rev. Jason Oden, a native of Oklahoma, has been a resident of Cincinnati for the past 20 years. After completing his Masters in Religion at Trinity Divinity School in 2005, he taught Bible and biblical history at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy for 10 years. Discerning a call to become an Episcopal priest, he then became the Director of Christian Education at Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington, Kentucky from 2015 to 2018, followed by service as a curate at St. Barnabas Episcopal, and two years as Priest-in-Charge at Church of the Advent in Walnut Hills.
Jason is a devout Episcopal priest who demonstrates a strong Christian faith and brings a focus on building relationships of mutual trust to all that he does. His pastoral style is warm and empathetic; he is a good listener. Jason’s preaching is informed by his Biblical scholarship and years of teaching theology and Bible classes at CHCA.
Jason’s wife, Heather Ellison, is chief of staff at the UC Foundation. They live in Madeira with their four teenage daughters: Jaffa, Jorie, Xylem, and Isla.
Jason has worked with the Presbytery of Cincinnati on a committee on church growth and has an interest in ecumenism. He is enthusiastic about his call to Indian Hill Church.
