PHILIP CLARY

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

Phil, a native Cincinnatian, is the church’s Director of Music and has been with Indian Hill Church since August 2017. He earned a Master of Sacred Music degree from Westminster Choir College/Rider University, a Master of Educational Administration degree from Xavier University, and a Bachelor of Music Education in Vocal Music degree from Northern Kentucky University. He also completed a year of choral conducting studies at the University of Cincinnati (CCM) under Dr. Stephen Coker. Since 2000, Phil has been visible in the community as a teacher in the Music Department at Indian Hill High School. Phil was the Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Choral Society for 11 seasons.  He currently sings with the Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble and he sang in the Vocal Arts Ensemble for 17 seasons.  Phil and his wife, Erin, enjoy travel, theater, coffee, good food and wine, and are active in hosting foreign exchange students with YFU (Youth for Understanding).
