The Tale of the Three Trees | Lenten Musical 2024

Although it’s an American folktale, not a biblical story, “The Tale of the Three Trees” teaches us great lessons about faith, patience, and trust in God. Each of the three trees has grandiose dreams of what they will be someday. Though their dreams are not realized exactly as they’d envisioned, it seems God had a greater plan all along.
“I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
The Tale of the Three Trees took the place of our Sermon on the 5th Sunday in Lent. May we each reflect on how God is at work in our lives, far beyond our dreams. May the message of this musical speak to those of us who have big dreams, great disappointments, or periods of waiting and longing.
